Graston
scraping
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization to address scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and chronic tight patterns that limit motion.
What is
scraping?
Graston technique uses controlled pressure while moving over skin and underlying soft tissue to address myofascial adhesions, scar tissue, and chronic type patterns that limit motion.
Treatment promotes blood flow; bruising is possible depending on the individual. Sessions are usually brief and targeted to specific regions tied to your complaint.
Expect some redness or mild soreness afterward, similar to a deep massage. We follow with movement or loading so changes translate to better motion.

When it
helps most
Chronic tendinopathy or overuse regions
Post surgical or post injury scar tissue buildup
Areas that feel tight and stiff
Athletes clearing movement restrictions before skill work
Pairing well with exercise and load progression
Muscle and general body soreness
Common
questions
Does it break up scar tissue?
We use careful language. The research suggests instruments help modulate pain and tissue response while you load the area appropriately. We explain what to expect for your case.
Will I bruise?
Petechiae or light bruising can occur. We adjust pressure and duration based on your skin tolerance and sport calendar.
Is it the same as foam rolling?
Similar intent, different precision and force. Tools allow focal work a roller cannot replicate.
